2012 Air passenger duty (APD) from April 1st: This will make airline travelers incandescent with rage.
Passengers who have already booked tickets for travel from April 1 will have to pay the extra APD - with airlines expected to collect the money.
For most travelers it will be on average, £1 or £5 per ticket. Not the point but not a huge amount either.
APD on premium economy and business class fares will be double these rates, unless the government changes the current banding rules when it responds to an industry consultation.
