In a major boost for tourism and business in Christchurch, the Rendezvous Hospitality Group will launch its Rendezvous Hotel brand to the city early next year.
Rendezvous Hotel Christchurch, formerly known as The Marque Christchurch, will be the first of the central city hotels closed following February’s quake to re-open its doors to guests. Christchurch’s newest hotel is on track to re-open on March 1, 2012 – just in time for the Ellerslie International Flower Show. The hotel occupies levels 1 to 15 of the Pacific Tower building on Gloucester Street, opposite New Regent St and adjacent to Cathedral Junction, and has needed only minimal structural repairs. It

Congress urged to stop airlines from violating Federal Aviation Act

RADNOR, PA – Business Travel Coalition (BTC) today transmitted a letter signed by some 150 organizations to Congressional conference committee members negotiating a long-term reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Signatories urged conferees to include language that will prevent some airlines from continuing to violate Section 41712 of the U.S. Federal Aviation Act.
Specifically, these industry-leading organizations ask that Congress direct the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to within 180 days require airlines to disclose optional fee information (e.g., checked baggage charges, at-airport ticketing fees, etc.) in the same electronic and transactable formats used to publish airfares themselves.

Andalucia is blessed with some beautiful villages. One of the most striking is Setenil de las Bodegas in the Province of Cadiz. Situated just across the border with Malaga it makes a fantastic day-trip.

A plane-spotter in Germany has captured amazing footage of planes landing in fierce crosswinds.

A video featuring spectacular airliner landings during strong winds at Dusseldorf Airport in Germany has gone viral, clocking up more than 1.5 million views less than three weeks.
The video, shot by German Martin Bogdan and posted to his ‘Cargospotter’ YouTube account, shows a number of airline jets attempting to land during strong crosswinds, one after the other, shot from the front of the runway.
Due to the strong winds, the jets approach the runway at unusual angles, occasionally tilting to compensate as they come in to land.
