International air travel in first and business class has slumped because of Japan’s nuclear crisis, weakening world trade and Middle East turmoil, the industry body IATA said on Monday. It said economy class travel rebounded in April, but the surge could be curbed by fuel cost rises that weigh more on price-sensitive flights used by tourists and individual travellers.
Don’t Hate the Playa: Mexico’s Playa del Carmen is a Refined Beach Experience

Suppose you want to hit a Mexican beach for a few days of chillaxing, and you want to keep it easy. Well, there’s always Cancun, which is pretty simple to reach, with cheap fares from most east coast cities. But if it’s your goal to steer clear of frat-rock idiots and tramp-stamped bimbos vomiting Jell-O Shots outside Seor Frog’s for the duration of your trip, you’ll need to push just a little bit further, to a balneario resort city just a few clicks south called Playa del Carmen. It’s the beach town your wandering heart longs for.

He gleans a number of awards, and his photographs were featured in Le Figaro, Stern, Der Spiegel, The Sunday Telegraph, Le Monde, Liberation, Le Point, De Volkskrant, Private, Forbes, Traveler Magazine (UK), Marie Claire and others.
While Arindam’s website features many galleries (most of which are of India), I chose his work in My City Kolkata, where he has lived all his life.

Running had its first boom in the 70s, and has been making quite the comeback in the past few years. estimates that 507,000 people finished marathons in 2010 and since 2003, the half marathon has been the fastest growing road race distance in the U.S., with more than 1.1 million finishers in 2009. That means that close to two million people will run a race over 13.1 miles this year, not including the hundreds and hundreds of miles they will log during training.
Most people run races not necessarily to win, but to set a personal best, or sometimes just to finish—all you need is a good pair of shoes and a determined mindset. P
